About Us

What We Are:
Ironhorse Gear specializes in Camping and Travel Gear for Motorcycle Riders. Over time, a number of ATV, UTV, and other off-road enthusiasts have found us to be a valuable source for the gear they need too. We manufacture our own sleeping bags and tents, and we partner with some of the nation’s top brands to bring you an assortment of stoves, lighting, water filtration, sleeping pads, dry bags, and tableware.

Who We Are:
Ironhorse Gear was started by Jim Durfee. Jim has over 20 years of retail, manufacturing, and consulting experience in the outdoor industry. Sixteen of those years were spent managing the camping business at the corporate level for two of the largest sporting goods retailers in the country.

Why We Are:
After years of traveling the country and attending store grand openings where we could visit with customers, it became obvious that riders needed a source for outdoor gear that understood what their needs were. Customers from all over would ask for camping gear that would be compact and fit inside of their saddlebags, but would also be large enough to actually be used. Grown men had no intention of cramming themselves into a mummy bag, or into a tent that was not long enough for them. As for the ladies, if it was good enough for the guys then it was good enough for the girls. They didn’t want the gimmicks or the crazy colors that were being passed off as ”women’s models.” Ironhorse Gear exists because riders need it to. We are committed to providing you with what you need to make your trip better.

Where We Are:
Ironhorse Gear is proud to call Cedar City, Utah home. Surrounded by state and national parks, mountainous landscapes and desert terrain, Cedar City is the perfect place to call home. The growl of bikes rolling down I-15 can be heard from March through November, and the mountain trails are occupied by families on quads all year long. Make sure that you reach out to us as you drive through town, we’ll be happy to show you around and find a place to quench your thirst.

The Cause:
Your cause is our cause. We want to participate in your rides, your festivals, your banquets, and your rallies. We want to know about your causes and to support those that are an inspiration to our communities and country. We are proud to live in this great country and we appreciate the sacrifice others have made that gives us the freedoms that we have.
